AR furniture configuration app mechanism
An easy-to-understand explanation of AR technology that places life-sized furniture in camera footage.
When you project your room with a smartphone, a life-sized sofa appears—this is not "image compositing" but rather the mechanism of AR that involves "placement in 3D space." Developers will explain how to prepare 3D models of furniture (modeling, photogrammetry, CAD conversion). They will also introduce three technologies that allow smartphones to understand the room, techniques that make it look like the furniture is "actually there," and how to create this on iOS/Android.
